In the early sixties, I was fortunate to see and participate in the beginning of motocross racing in the United States. Growing up watching and racing the tracks throughout New York and New
England, the machines and riders involved always sparked my interest. Powerful single and twin
cylinder 4-stroke motorcycles ruled the racetracks, but new light and powerful 2-strokes soon
emerged. Along with CZ, Maico, Husqvarna, Montesa, Greeves and others, Bultacos were
among the fine machines from Europe that were here to win!
The beginning of a new era in
motocross was born . . .

Although it is out of the scope of this book to include every Bultaco made during the company's
span, the collection of images captured here are published with the sole intent of showcasing
models of the famous Bultaco motocross marque. The production of this book would not have
been possible without the help and enthusiasm of Bultaco riders, collectors, fans, and dealers
around the world. They have kept alive today this fabulous motorcycle legend!
It is my hope that everyone enjoys viewing these photographs and that they can be of some help
in presenting these fine motocross machines in detail. I have truly enjoyed meeting and talking
with the owners of this classic motorcycle and love seeing them reborn today! Even though not
produced today, in the grassroots of motocross, Bultaco has reserved its place proudly in
racing history.
